Product description
Brombach + Gess has developed a bonded fire protection glazing system based on the principle of direct glazing (100% bonded concept).
Fire resistant glazing is used along escape and rescue routes and at lifeboat assembly stations. The product thus forms an essential part of safety on board.
Concept
The specially approved fire protection glass, Pyramare FR3, consists of an external pressure pane, which is able to absorb high loads from wave impact, and an internal fire protection pane, which foams up in the event of a fire and provides insulation against the fire load.
The fire protection glass is bonded directly to the ship's structure. Additional steel framing to hold and secure the glass is not required. The glued solution is significantly more weatherproof than a bolted solution
The adhesive and sealant are insulated to withstand high temperatures in the event of a fire, in accordance with the requirements of the A60 MED guidelines.
The Pyramare FR3® glass is much lighter than the previous fire resistant glass because there is no need for screw-on frames and also the thickness of the fire resistant pane can be reduced by 9mm. The glazing system is also available with solar control coatings.
The bonded solution allows for elegant designs that blend seamlessly with the ship's glass design. This results in more design flexibility, appearing lighter and more inconspicuous.
